Started off rough but ended up being a great day. This is what Spearfishing in the Gulf of Mexico is all about. The fish are a bit too scarcely populated along the rocky bottom in the vastness of the Gulf for freediving. Therefore my preferred method of descent is with use of Scuba Tanks. This way you can cover 3-times the distance in about the same time. You are also more likely to stack up-on schools of fish. My Preferred gun of choice is the 100 cm Hammerhead Evolution 2, a-typical for use in Gulf of Mexico water, especially on tanks. However I am a Freediver at heart so this equipment suits me just fine. My partner went with the more common 32″ AB Biller. We were equipped with single tanks and used 3-throughout the course of the day. We dove a total of 3 spots all within the 60-70 ft depth. Total days Keep Included 1- 20″ Red Grouper, 3- 20″+ Hogfish and 1 – 18″ Mangrove Snapper
